Our Newcomer expat health insurance plan includes dental coverage for pain-relieving restorative treatments performed or prescribed by a licensed dentist, up to β¬500 per policy year. Coverage applies only to new dental conditions that arise after the policy start date. Routine check-ups, dental cleanings, and any conditions identified during a scheduled check-up are not covered, even if the treatment itself would otherwise be eligible.
Does expat health insurance cover dental treatment?
Our Newcomer expat health insurance plan includes dental coverage for pain-relieving restorative dentistry, such as simple fillings and repairs of existing dentures. Coverage is capped at β¬500 per policy year and is only valid when the treatment is performed or prescribed by a licensed dentist.
What dental treatments are not covered under the Expat policy?
The Newcomer plan does not cover routine dental check-ups or cleanings. Because check-ups are excluded, any dental issue identified during a scheduled check-up is also not covered β even if the treatment itself, such as a filling, would normally be eligible. Coverage only applies when a new dental problem prompts the visit, not when an issue is discovered at a routine appointment. Pre-existing dental conditions are also excluded regardless of how they are discovered.
