Does expat health insurance cover chronic illnesses?

Expat health covers new medical conditions, accidents or emergencies that first commence after your policy has commenced.

It does not cover pre-existing conditions that were known, treated or diagnosed before the policy commenced.

Therefore, if you first develop a chronic condition after your policy starts, then it would likely be covered.

But if you already have a chronic condition before your policy commences, then it would be considered a pre-existing condition and would not be covered.

In any case, you are still eligible to sign up for Expat Health with us and pay for treatment related to pre-existing conditions out of pocket.
