What visa requirements does expat health insurance meet?
Our expat health insurance has been used successfully for visa and residence permit applications by thousands of customers worldwide. Your visa compliance certificate will be available to download in your account in both French and English immediately after sign-up, and it confirms the following:
We operate in France
Full inpatient and outpatient coverage (hospitalization, medical consultations, surgical and outpatient procedures, emergency care, and diagnostic tests)
Unlimited medical coverage (minimum coverage of €30,000 guaranteed)
No annual deductible (assurance santé "au premier euro")
Coverage valid across the entire Schengen area
Medical repatriation and repatriation of remains
Policy valid for 1 year, renewable
Valid for national visas and renewals
Not a travel insurance policy
Does expat health insurance have a waiting period for visa purposes?
There's no waiting period as long as your policy starts within 31 days of your arrival in France, or as long as you had equivalent or better coverage up until the start of your new policy.
Even if a waiting period does apply (in other instances), your policy covers life-threatening emergencies from day 1.
Note that waiting periods are typically not a visa requirement, and your visa compliance certificate makes no mention of them. You can read more about waiting periods here.
The terms and conditions of the insurance apply and prevail.
